Volkswagen just celebrated the 60th Anniversary of the Transporter. Instead of the PR we’ve gathered some of our favorite videos and posted them here. To quote Volkswagen “Over the years, Volkswagen Transporters have endured challenging round the world trips by enthusiastic travelers, been used as the preferred choice of travel for rock bands since the 1960s to the present day, and been relied upon by many businesses needing a fleet of delivery or passenger carrying vehicles.”

A new, state of the art Verve Van Centre in Glasgow was officially opened yesterday by Stephan Schaller, CEO of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
The new Verve Van Centre, which represents a financial investment of £3m and is expected to create 20 new jobs, is a bespoke building in a new location at Glasgow Business Park in Baillieston, Glasgow. Pete Townshend, mastermind of The Who, has swapped his classic camper van for a stylish, new Volkswagen Transporter Sportline. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles now owns his old camper van and will be displaying it at a variety of shows and events.
