Fasten your seatbelts! This will be the motto for the 2011 team of drivers in Oschersleben on Tuesday and Wednesday, when the newcomers and old hands alike will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves for the first time with the revamped 2011 model of the Scirocco R-Cup at the annual introductory course.
In comparison to its predecessor, the update has a distinctly more aggressive appearance and is also 40 kilograms lighter thanks to CFRP lightweight components. Air intakes on the bonnet deliver better cooling and a large spoiler results in greater surface pressure. Meanwhile, the innovative push-to-pass system returns unchanged this season. This allows the drivers to boost their power by 50 hp at the press of a button, resulting in some spectacular overtaking maneuvers.
