VF-Engineering MK4 chassis sway bar end link / drop link

I hooked up with a set of these from a ‘tex reader. My bushings were drying out plus I’ve been needing to do a bit to my suspension.

The VF’s are a solid piece of CNC’ing esp. over the OEM’s. The main post between the mount points is 1/4″ thick. Lame. VW has revised these a number of times. Aside from the fact the VF’s are not a direct bolt on I’d recommend them!

With that said, I had to go purchase a set of bolt, washers and nuts for the top mount. The OEM is a 10m hex. It also has a flange/flair… that makes up the internal space of the bushing. The VF’s had a spacer. Their pic on the site shows no spacers plus the hex.. o-well.

Install is pretty straight forward. Unbolt, bolt! The only thing is to support the rotor and then some. It will drop. A jack is best w/ a wood block as you will need to raise to line up holes.

Just an update for those who care. I have the VFs on my car and they are incredible. I've been through 1 shoddy OEM set and 1 overpriced adjustable set from Freedom Design. The OEM ones were just weak and the rubber bushing was crumbling. The Freedom Design ones were horrible and didn't last a year before seizing, bending, and making a whole lot of clunking and squeaking noises.

FYI, I used the original OEM hardware for this. The top bolts (which I didn't use for the FD links) were stuck solid in the OEM links. I just popped them in the freezer to contract the metal and rubber a bit and they popped right out. Same for inserting into the new VFs. Just amke sure the new links are back to ambient temps before installing on the car.

Thanks! I figured you might be able to do that from the official VF pics. I'm gonna use the stock bolt.

i don't recall. will have to look at the receipt.

I found out that you can use the OEM parts. You need to press out the top ones and remove the spacers in the VF piece. Then press the OEM ones in. Locktite em and bolt up. I still need to do this.

If you do need to buy parts, make sure you get Grade 8!!
