This makes the ABT A1 a genuine sports car, which cannot and does not want to deny its closeness to motorsport, as Hans-Jurgen Abt stresses: “Even the series standard version of the car is a lot of fun in particular on winding roads – and it is precisely for this reason that we have focused on providing extra power. The dream has come true: With a fourth place in the penultimate round of the ADAG GT Masters Christian Abt has captured the title in the hotly contested sports car series. The 42 years old Kempten showed the race at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben on Saturday not only enormous nerve, but also a fine sense of history: He won the title on the day exactly a decade after his triumph in the championship on 17 STW October 1999. It is also the first title ever for the new Audi R8 LMS, celebrated its race debut until 2009.
