Leading the product offensive is the 2012 Beetle which will initially be offered in 2.5L and 2.0L forms, with a TDI® Clean Diesel becoming available in 2012. The 2012 Passat is a compelling mid-sized sedan that is pitched at the heart of this ultra-competitive market. It offers class-leading rear-seat legroom, German-engineered ride and handling, and the only available TDI® Clean Diesel in its class; when equipped with a six-speed manual transmission, this offers an EPA estimated fuel economy rating of 43 mpg on the highway and a range of 795 miles. Here we go… Again a lot to late. Rumor has it that the VW Beetle R will pump out 270hp from the same TFSI engine that will go in to the Golf R.

Once again, Volkswagen is throwing some punches at Worthersee this year. From the Golf GTI Edition 35 to showing off the insane Golf24 Nurburgring killer, they now drop the Golf R cabriolet concept on us. Stacked with 270hp it can hit a top speed of 150mph. Stopping on a dime is provided by a 17″ brake system w/ ventilated disc. Like the Eos, we could easily see this entering the “stance” scene!
