The 2012 Passat is a compelling mid-sized sedan that is pitched at the heart of this ultra-competitive market. It offers class-leading rear-seat legroom, German-engineered ride and handling, and the only available TDI® Clean Diesel in its class; when equipped with a six-speed manual transmission, this offers an EPA estimated fuel economy rating of 43 mpg on the highway and a range of 795 miles. The completely newly developed Beetle from Volkswagen is the star of the Beetle Sunshine Tour, for which thousands of visitors are expected to come to the Baltic Sea shores at Travemunde on 13 August. On the show stages along the boardwalk, the 200 PS powerful Beetle of the 21st century is to be seen ten weeks before its market launch in October. It will be supported by live music by the Volkswagen Sound Foundation: Jenix, Feinkost and Wilhelm Tell Me will be playing in the Brugmanngarten. VW Beetle R coming with 270 HP

Today, ABT Sportsline dropped the cloth on their Beetle program. Photoshops have been out there and VWVortex had a go at one. As the air-cooled Beetle was an agile fun car, the ABT Sportsline “Speedle” Beetle will live up to that. Power upgrades will be available for the VW TSI and TDI options. The 2.0 L Turbo should see 240 horsepower. Sitting on 19″ ABT CR wheels with a strong visual stance outs it where VW should have, firmly on the pavement.
