The works Skoda team took lead the Monte Carlo Rally on its IRC debut after the first day through driver Juho Hanninen. The Skoda Fabia Super 2000 looks great on the roads. We will have more info and pictures soon.

On the leaderboard, Juho Hanninen holds the lead by a margin of 11.9 seconds. For his factory Skoda Team, which is making its IRC debut at the demanding Monte Carlo Rally, ending the first day in the lead is quite an accomplishment.
A half-minute off the pace set by the stage winner, Skoda competitors Jan Kopecky and Hanninen claimed the next two positions within a second of each other – Kopecky completing the run without the benefit of power steering.
Rallye Monte Carlo resumes tomorrow with a morning loop of three stages which will be repeated in the afternoon.
