The Skoda Yeti takes established VW hardware and pieces them together cleverly to present a well engineered, practical car with a mix of abilities to address a variety of customer needs. While Skoda may not have aimed the Yeti at the enthusiast, by giving its controls an accuracy and honesty it has made a car that is good to drive.

The best marks for safety for the Skoda Yeti: in the new, toughened crash test performed by Euro NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme), Skoda’s compact SUV has achieved the highest rating – five stars. Besides adult occupant protection, the overall result reflects the vehicle’s excellent child occupant and pedestrian protection parameters.

Mass production of the Skoda Yeti launched

The first mass-produced Skoda Yeti left the assembly line of Skoda Auto’s plant in Kvasiny. By starting the mass-production process, Skoda has completed the launch of its brand new model line (fifth in total) and entered the SUV segment. The very first Yeti produced yesterday is a four-wheel drive, has a blue colour (aqua) and is fitted with a 1.8 TSI  engine.

The Compact SUV Skoda Yeti debuts in Geneva

The 4.2 metre long, five-door vehicle bears the well-known features of the brand. Sturdy flanks and distinct wings give Yeti its robust and solid look on 17 inch wheels, without coming across as bulky and heavy.

Škoda has met the demands for a cleanly styled body, a high seat position and versatile operating options with a design, which despite its robustness, exudes lightness rather than bulky shapes.
