Last week we got the dreaded phone call from Volkswagen and it’s time for the Scirocco to go back to its rightful owner. Having spent nearly three months with the little VW, I am reluctant to let it go. But since my feeble attempts at the authoritarian “we can’t send it back yet” phone calls and even desperate pleas cut no ice, it seems we will have to see our longtermer off shortly. The Golf GTI’s well-known TSI engine with 2.0-litre displacement and 155 kW / 210 PS is now also available for the Scirocco and Eos. The greatest advantage: the engine, which replaces the previous top class engine, the 2.0 TSI (147 kW / 200 PS), reduces fuel consumption by up to nine percent.
