On the third race weekend of the FIA GT3 European Championship at Jarama (Spain), Bernd Herndlhofer and Kenneth Heyer clinched the first European Championship victory of the year for Audi. The duo from Team Rosberg pushed forward from position 15 on the grid to first place in round one and thus gave their team its first triumph in the series. In round two, as well, two drivers of an Audi R8 LMS — Greg Franchi and Stéphane Lemeret from Team Saintéloc-Phoenix in third place – finished on the podium. A podium position was just barely missed by Christer Jöns and Sean Paul Breslin (Black Falcon) who came fourth in the first race.
