FIA GT1: All-Inkl Lamborghini tops Abu Dhabi test

ALL-INKL Lamborghini, Abu Dhabi

Marc Basseng and All-Inkl.com Lamborghini team-mate Marcus Winkelhock made the perfect start to the 2011 season by topping both morning and afternoon sessions in Wednesday’s pre-season test.

The duo ended the morning fastest from Marc VDS Racing’s Maxime Martin and Frederic Makowiecki, before lowering their personal best by more than a second and a half in the heat of the afternoon to remain fastest and round out a dominant start to their preparations for this weekend’s opening round.

All-Inkl.com’s other pairing, Dominik Schwager and Nicky Pastorelli, also improved in afternoon session and ended the day second fastest, completing a clean sweep for the Munnich Motorsport squad.

With the afternoon session proving slightly faster than the morning, Stefan Mucke and Darren Turner ended the day third fastest for the Young Driver Aston Martin Racing squad.

Behind them the Corvette squads of Exim Bank Team China and DKR Engineering showed strongly, at one point topping the timesheets before eventually finishing fourth and fifth respectively. The Corvette has previous form at Yas Marina, particularly in the hands of current No. 11 driver Mike Hezemans, who took a podium in the Championship Race in 2010.

After running well in the morning session, Mark VDS Racing endured an unfortunate afternoon as mechanical issues afflicted both cars – restricting them to a combined total of just nine laps.
