United Autosports’ brace of Audi R8 LMS cars have this morning (Saturday April 3rd 2010) been out with the British GT field for the first of two free practice sessions.

The #23 car of Zak Brown and Richard Dean held second place during much of the session, which ran on a damp track with the #22 sister car of Mike Guasch and Mark Patterson holding fourth.

A red-flag paused the session 8 minutes from the end to recover a car at Druids. Most of the field returned to the drying track and went on to post faster times, but Brown and Dean remained in their garage – happy with their session.

Guasch did return to the track to post his best time of 1:52.868 on his final lap to retain fourth out of 19 cars.

The sun shone for the second one-hour practice session allowing for the team’s first run on Avon’s slick, dry weather tires.

At the session end, Guasch posted the #22 car’s fastest time on new tyres on lap four and finish in 7th place, whilst the #23 car of Brown and Dean lined up 12th, trying out different setup changes.

Two fifteen-minute qualifying sessions will commence at 16.45h. Live timing will be available here.
