Volume Five of “Ferdinand Porsche – the Pioneer of Hybrid Drive“

Ferdinand Porsche – the Pioneer of Hybrid Drive

Marking the three world premieres of the Cayenne S Hybrid, the GT3 R Hybrid racing car with electrical front-axle drive and flywheel mass power storage, as well as the 918 Spyder concept car with plug-in hybrid technology, the in-house Publishing Division of the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart is proud to announce the publication of the new volume of ”Ferdinand Porsche – the Pioneer of Hybrid Drive“. On 160 pages a wide range of – in some cases previously unpublished – photos of young Ferdinand Porsche as well as drawings from Porsche’s Corporate Archives offer the reader a new insight into the beginning and development of the first fully-functional full hybrid, the ”Semper Vivus“, as it was called. Designing and building this unprecedented car, Ferdinand Porsche as a true visionary entered new technical terrain no less than 110 years ago. At the time the “Semper Vivus“ paved the way for a Porsche strategy still valid to this very day: the strategy to offer sporting driving pleasure on even less fuel.

The new, fifth volume in the Edition Porsche Museum series is available in English and German at a price of Euro 14,90 Euro in the Porsche Museum Shop in the lobby of the Museum (no admission fee required).
