Victory in the first race of the Dutch Volkswagen Endurance Cup 2011 went to the Peter Kommer Autosport team. Drivers René de Wit and Mickey Bertram crossed the finishing line in the 4-hour race in Zandvoort with a lead of just 77 hundredths of a second over Morien Match 1.
The Kolenaarde Bekker team came third, 1.51 minutes behind the winners. With pole position, the fastest lap and then the overall victory, the first racing weekend went very well for Peter Kommer Autosport, which raced in a Volkswagen Golf V 2.0 TDI just like all the teams.
