First ever Nordschleife race for the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup

The Porsche Carrera World Cup is breaking all records. Now the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup will also run a classification round at the greatest Porsche race in the world on 25 June on the Nordschleife of the Nurburgring. At the legendary race track, also known as “Green Hell”, more than 200,000 spectators will witness up to 200 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race cars competing. Nicholas Tandy celebrates first Porsche Mobil1 Supercup victory at home race

In front of home crowds on the traditional Silverstone race track, Nicholas Tandy fulfilled the dream of his first victory in the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup. At the wheel of Konrad Motorsport’s Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, the local hero and Supercup rookie won the sixth round of the season of the world’s fastest international brand trophy series with a 5.572 second advantage over René Rast (Germany). With his double victory at the season-opener in the Kingdom of Bahrain, René Rast stepped into the role of favourite in the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup. At the first race of the season on European soil for the world’s fastest international one-make cup, Rast is determined to further extend his points’ advantage in Barcelona on 9 May. “We had a fabulous start to the season. Round 2 at the Bahrain Grand Prix

Notching up two victories on the Bahrain International Circuit, René Rast from Germany kicked off the new season of the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup. After winning the season-opener on Saturday he repeated his success in Sunday’s race with the new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup fielded by Al Faisal Lechner Racing ahead of his Dutch teammate Jeroen Bleekemolen. Third position went to Supercup newcomer Nicholas Tandy (Konrad Motorsport) from Great Britain. Dr. Wolfgang Porsche, Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Dr. Ing. h.c. F. With two races on the Bahrain International Circuit on 13th and 14th March, the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup takes off into the new season. In the desert Kingdom, 25 drivers line up on the grid with the new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup and will attempt to make a good start towards the title in two twelve-lap sprints on the Grand Prix circuit. Porsche GT3 Cup S

Porsche AG, Stuttgart, adds another member of the 911 family to its range of products. The new GT3 Cup S, based on the road-going GT3 RS sportscar, is created exclusively for racing purposes. The Weissach-developed and built vehicle will race in international champion-ships which run in accordance with FIA GT3 regulations.

Porsche GT3 Cup S

To a large extent, the 3.6-litre boxer engine is identical to the power unit used in the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup and the international Carrera Cup championships. Power output has increased by 20 horsepower to now 440 hp (324 kW) at 8,000 rpm. Maximum torque is up by ten Nm to 430 at 7,250 revs per minute. The power increase results from optimised engine electronics and a modified exhaust system.
