When the first day of testing at Dijon was over, Oliver Jarvis still held the top position on the time sheets. In the afternoon session, the Briton did even better than in the morning and clocked the fastest lap time of the day by crossing the line in 1:10.185 minutes. Mike Rockenfeller and Mattias Ekström also broke the 1:11-minute barrier, in the afternoon session, but weren’t fast enough to steal the Britons position at the very top. At the end of the day, they were 0.237 and 0.494 seconds respectively slower than Jarvis.
Tom Kristensen and Timo Scheider completed the Audi top five. Furthermore, the reigning champion was the busiest driver of the session: Scheider’s 61 laps represented a total mileage of 231.861 kilometres. In the meantime, Mathias Lauda proved to be the fastest AMG Mercedes C-Class driver, followed by Jamie Green and Gary Paffett. All the three Mercedes-Benz drivers succeeded in improving their personal best times, in the afternoon – while Ralf Schumacher failed to do so. The former Formula 1 ace even was 0.114 seconds slower than in the morning session when he had clocked a personal best of 1:11.583 minutes.
The official DTM tests at Dijon will be continued on Wednesday and Thursday, with all the 2009 DTM drivers being involved in the tests, at a certain point in time.
