DTM: Oliver Jarvis on pole position at Zandvoort

A premiere in the DTM: Oliver Jarvis (Audi) is the first driver to claim a pole position with a year-old car. For the Briton, it is also the maiden pole of his DTM career. With a lap time of 1:31.966 minutes, the Audi driver was fastest at the 4.307 kilometres long dune circuit in the Dutch village of Zandvoort. Gary Paffett (Mercedes-Benz) qualified second, Bruno Spengler (Mercedes-Benz) claimed the third grid position for the race on Sunday. Mike Rockenfeller (Audi) will be starting fourth.

  • 13.35 hrs: Start of the first session, Bakkerud and Legge are the first drivers to go out on the track.
  • 13.38 hrs: Gary Paffett is the first driver to post a lap time: 1:33.240, but the others behind him are faster. Rockenfeller on top with 1:32.472.
  • 13.39 hrs: Kristensen fastest with 1:32.453
  • 13.42 hrs: Only three drivers on the track: Engel, Green and Lauda.
  • 13.43 hrs: Kristensen is leading from Rockenfeller, Jarvis, Scheider, Di Resta, Spengler and Engel.
  • 13.45 hrs: Green is now on top: 1:32.070.
  • 13.46 hrs: Tomczyk moves up from 17th to 1st: 1:32.032.
  • 13.47 hrs: Winkelhock on top with 1:31.690, then Prémat fastest with 1:31.402. Paffett moves up into second with 1:31.583.
  • 13.48 hrs: Ekström moves up from 18th to first with 1:31.157. He remains on top from Prémat, Paffett, Di Resta, Winkelhock, Tomczyk, Kristensen, Rockenfeller, Jarvis.
  • 13.49 hrs: The following drivers didn’t make it into the next heat: Engel, Kostka, Bakkerud, Lauda and Schumacher.
  • 13.53 hrs: Start of the second heat. Oliver Jarvis is the first driver on the track.
  • 13.56 hrs: Jarvis tops the time sheet with 1:31.414, but then Tomczyk takes over with 1:31.358, with Spengler second: 1:31.368.
  • 13.59 hrs: Legge, who comes into the pits, drives into the left side of Timo Scheider’s car, who wants to leave his pit stall.
  • 14.02 hrs: Ekström from eleventh to ninth: 1:31.511.
  • 14.03 hrs: End of the session. Tomczyk remains fastest from Spengler, Green, Jarvis, Di Resta, Paffett, Rockenfeller and Prémat.
  • 14.04 hrs: The following drivers haven’t made it into the third heat: Ekström, Kristensen and Scheider, Winkelhock, Stoddart and Legge.
  • 14.09 hrs: Start of the third heat with Oliver Jarvis and Jamie Green.
  • 14.12 hrs: Fastest lap time for Jarvis: 1:31.413.
  • 14.14 hrs: All drivers having completed three laps, Jarvis remains fastest. Paffett is the only one who hasn’t been out yet.
  • 14.15 hrs: Paffett goes out, too.
  • 14.16 hrs: Paffett is third with 1:31.717.
  • 14.18 hrs: Spengler moves up from sixth to second with 1:31.532.
  • 14.19 hrs: Jarvis remains fastest from Spengler, Rockenfeller and Paffett, who all move up into the final heat. The rest of the top eight: Di Resta, Prémat, Green and Tomczyk.
  • 14.23 hrs: Paffett: 1:32.548; Rockenfeller: 1:33.394; Spengler: 1:32.715; Jarvis: 1:31.966.
