Spaniard Miguel Molina (Audi) set the fastest lap time in warm-up of the DTM at Valencia. On his fastest lap, the Audi works driver lapped the 4.005 kilometres long ‘Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo’ in 1:30.049 minutes. At the end of the 30 minutes’ session, his advantage over second-placed Mike Rockenfeller was 0.030 seconds. Bruno Spengler, who will be starting from second place with his AMG Mercedes C-Class into this afternoon’s second DTM round, ended up third in warm-up.
Paul Di Resta (Mercedes-Benz), Alexandre Prémat, Oliver Jarvis, Martin Tomczyk (all Audi) and David Coulthard (Mercedes-Benz) occupied fourth to eighth place. Mattias Ekström, who will be starting from first place into the race, ended up only ninth, 0.445 seconds down on Molina’s fastest time. In the morning warm-up session, it became apparent once again how close the competition in the DTM field is. The 14 fastest drivers all lapped within one second.
The second round of the 2010 DTM season will start at 14.00 h. ARD is broadcasting the exciting battle between Audi and Mercedes-Benz live from 13.45 h onwards.
