DTM: Kristensen dropped back ten places

With the race just about to start, we saw this news. Poor Tom!

After qualifying, Danish Audi driver Tom Kristensen was dropped back ten places on the grid and given a fin of 2,500 Euros by the stewards because of an infringement.

At the end of the second qualifying heat, Kristensen drove into the pit lane behind British driver Gary Paffett. There, he overtook the Mercedes-Benz driver and caused an avoidable collision. Moreover, a scrutineer who was standing there had to step bacl. Because Kristensen had ended up ninth in qualifying, the eight times’ winner of the Le Mans 24 Hours will be starting from 19th and last place for the race on Sunday (ARD live from 13.45 h).

Ralf Schumacher also overtook in the pit lane, but didn’t cause a collision and has to pay 1,000 Euros.
