Engine supplier Volkswagen is prey for the first time in the ATS Formula 3 Cup: After Laurens Vanthoor (B) won the title in convincing style with races to spare last year, the team mate he narrowly beat, Stef Dusseldorp (NL), aims to move up a position in the overall standings in 2010 and clinch the title yet again for Van Amersfoort Racing.
At the season opener between 9 and 11 April at Oschersleben he will meet many promising new talents, also ‘powered by Volkswagen’, seeking championship honours. The ‘new kids on the block’ faction is, for example, represented by Daniel Abt who makes the next step up the career ladder within the Volkswagen family after winning the ADAC Formula Masters title last year. A total of eleven drivers compete in the ATS Formula 3 Cup with a power unit from Wolfsburg.
