It was so nice to see the #87 Porsche back up front, especially with the BMW’s taking a 1-2 again and now the two Corvettes move up to 3-4 with Farnbacher Loles Porsche moving to the back. Heres to a good one guys!

Wolf Henzler driving the #87 Farnbacher Loles Racing Porsche GT3 RSR only needed three hot laps to qualify third today, the fastest Porsche in the competitive ALMS GT2 class. The Nürtingen, Germany native’s second lap clocked in at 1:17.788, merely two tenths off the pole setting time of the #92 BMW M3.
Unfortunately, due to IMSA regulations, the #87 will have to start Sunday’s race at the back of the field as Henzler’s co-driver, Dirk Werner, was not on-site and was unable to complete a required qualifying lap. Werner was racing in Montreal during the Mosport qualifying session, but will be ready to race for the win with Henzler on Sunday.
‘I’m very please with the qualifying, the car and the team were very good. It was not possible to catch the BMW today. It’s unfortunate that we have to start in the back tomorrow,’ Henzer said. ‘Especially at Mosport, it’s more difficult to pass cars because of all the downforce we run for the fast corners. When we get close to another car, we lose the that downforce and it makes overtaking difficult, but we’re ready for the challenge.’
Farnbacher Loles Racing Team Principal, Gregory Loles, knows that his RSR is ready for tomorrow. ‘Wolf’s qualifying effort shows that our car is competitive with the top cars in the series,’ Loles said. ‘Wolf and Dirk are a great driver pairing, the crew has the car ready, so we’ll keep our heads down and do our best to work our way back up to the front.’
