The #79 Derichs Rennwagen team is running an Audi A8 W12 on the Volkswagen Group D2 platform. This model ran from 1994-2002. The W12 compact 6.0L, which was made by matting two VR6 engines at the crankshaft, was introduced in 2001. The Audi A8 W12 made 331 kW (443 hp) and hit 0 – 100 km/h in 5.2 s.
They are running in the SP 8 class and just as I was typing, Radio Le Mans reported this car was stopped on track.
