The 2012 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge season started with a bang at Daytona International Speedway on Friday as a three-lap sprint to the finish made for a thrilling finish. In the end Billy Johnson and co-driver Jack Roush Jr. were able to hold off a trio of Fall-Line Motorsports BMW M3s to score Roush Performance’s first career win at the 3.56-mile speedway. APR Motorsport drops teaser video for this weekends CTSCC Homestead 200

It was great to see the APR Motorsport S4 up to speed after one race under its belt. Ian Bass put the S4 in 3rd spot during qualifying but we later learned the time was disallowed for ride height infractions. Heres to some great results from APR Motorsports S4 and GTI’s today. Irish Mike’s has been going strong all weekend in their Volkswagen Jettas. They are running in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge ST class. If you’ve never heard of Irish Mike’s, they are an automotive shop out of Orlando, FL. which specialize in service and repair. On top of that they have numerous years of racing under their belt with wins in the SCCA.

APR Motorsport S4 hits the track at Daytona

The crew over at Quattroworld have posted some great shots of the new APR Motorsport S4 running at Daytona in the Continental Tire Challenge GT class, this weekend. Testing has begun today but unfortunately, Ian Bass did put the S4 into the tires, which black flagged the session for a bit.

Our friends over at APR just finished the 3 month long preparation of their 2010 S4 for the 2010 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. In fact the car is going to the track for testing this week. The following video shows the APR Motorsport Audi B8 S4 3.0 TFSI Supercharged against the same vehicle in completely stock form. More vids and pics to come from testing this week! In fact, APR is inviting you to Daytona to come watch it in person if you are able to! ENJOY!

Mike Sweeney returns to APR Motorsport for his second full season of GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge in 2010, after a superb rookie year where he took three victories with the APR Motorsport team.

Sweeney will be partnered by veteran racer Mike Halpin, who has driven all four of the current classes with the Continental Tire Challenge (Grand Sport and Street Tuner) as well as the Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 (Daytona Prototypes and GT).
