Germany is coordinating with the new special models of Volkswagen at the 2010 World Cup: From now on Polo, Golf, Golf Plus, Volkswagen Tiguan and Scirocco as a special edition of ‘TEAM’ is available. Upon request, the equipment may be added ‘to the exclusive’ TEAM-Plus package. It could provide for customers a maximum price of up to 2605 euros. A successful debut year: The first season of the Scirocco Cup in China ended with a thrilling season finale at Guangdong (CN). The newly created one-make cup which is taking the successful concept with centrally fielded vehicles, maximum equality of opportunity and low costs to Asia, has immediately set new standards in the emerging Chinese motorsport thanks to exciting racing events. After the eighth and last race of the season – Man Hong Lo from Hong Kong has made history as the first title winner – Volkswagen announced the extended programme for the coming season: In 2010 the Scirocco Cup calendar in China will feature seven weekends with a total of 14 races including one event at Sepang, Malaysia. The tuners from MR Car Design have a released their upgrade program for the Volkswagen Scirocco called Black Rocco. The MR Car Design Volkswagen Scirocco Black Rocco comes with a rather serious power upgrade to 370 hp and 519 Nm of torque. The official press release does not mention this, but we guess the MR Car Design Volkswagen Scirocco Black Rocco is based on the 2.0 TSI version of the German car. To get the extra juice out of the 2.0 liter engine, the MR Car Design Volkswagen Scirocco Black Rocco has received an ECU upgrade, a MR Car Design Stage 3 turbo kit and a new custom exhaust system. Everyone knows that more than 300 hp on the front wheels spells trouble, so the tuner has fitted the MR Car Design Volkswagen Scirocco Black Rocco with a 35% fins limited slip differential and a modified DSG software. I guess you could say this is one step closer for the enthusiast in the U.S. First Germany and now the U.K. In the meantime we shall sit with envy. Expect to see these two hit showroom floors in February 2010.
Volkswagen has today confirmed pricing and specification for the most powerful and fastest accelerating derivatives of the Scirocco and Golf ever produced. Developed by Volkswagen’s special projects wing, Volkswagen Individual, prices for Scirocco R start at £26,945 on-the-road and £28,930 for the Golf R.
Today, Volkswagen announced its plans for the new eco-friendly one-make series in Hockenheim. With the Polo Cup and Euro F3 Series finishing their final race of the season, it was great news to hold us over the winter.
Volkswagen has been pursuing CNG or compress natural gas for some time in its vehicles. The Scirocco itself, has already seen a fair deal of racing with the GT24-CNG and in the STCC (Swedish Touring Car Champs). Now it will have it own one-make series like we have with the Jetta TDI Cup capitalizing on VW’s clean efforts.

Yet again Volkswagen proves that it is a trendsetter, organizing a one-make cup featuring Bio-CNG-powered vehicles starting in 2010.
With a CO2 reduction of up to 80 per cent Volkswagen demonstrates that major innovative strides are still possible in motorsport. Following the successful debut of the compressed natural gas-powered Scirocco GT24-CNG at the 24-hour race on the Nürburgring, an entire one-make cup has now been designed to enable eco-friendly motorsport. The cup version of the Bio-CNG Scirocco fitted with a two-litre turbo engine delivers up to 199 kW (270 hp).
