With a win at Sebring, Road America and top-ten finishes at Long Beach and New Jersey, Tony Rivera finished 3rd in the points standings of the SPEED World Challenge GT series.

© Mark WeberEyebrows were raised when Craig Stanton of Long Beach, Calif., wheeled his #07 Aasco Motorsports Porsche GT3 Cup to a ninth-place starting position for Sunday’s ACS Grand Prix of Long Beach presented by Lala Motorsports at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. As one of the competitors in the GT3 Cup Shootout, Stanton displaced several faster and more powerful World Challenge cars in the Sunday morning qualifying session, while also qualifying first in the GT3 Cup Shootout.

Great news! Our bud, Craig Stanton has joined up with Aasco Performance again and will compete in the Speed World Challenge this weekend at Long Beach.
The driver with the shortest commute for next weekend’s ACS World Challenge Grand Prix of Long Beach Presented by Lala Motorsports will be Craig Stanton. Driving all the way from Belmont Shores, Stanton will wheel a Porsche 997 GT3 in the World Challenge GT race during this weekend’s Grand Prix.

Not cool. We were so looking forward to Wednesday’s coverage and now it is delayed for a month?
The broadcast of the Sebring SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge races has been delayed, and will now air on SPEED Monday, May 11.
Originally scheduled to be broadcast Wednesday, April 15, the one-hour program from the Toyo Tires Season Opener at Sebring, March 20, will now air May 11 at noon (Eastern).
The series travels to Long Beach this weekend for the SPEED World Challenge GT ACS Grand Prix of Long Beach Presented by Lala Motorsports, April 19.
Fans of the SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge Championships will now be able to enjoy the sounds of World Challenge racing wherever they are with streaming audio available online, live from each race weekend.

After much anticipation, broadcast dates and times for the 2009 SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge Championships have been finalized.

Each World Challenge GT and Touring Car race will be combined for one action-packed hour-long show, aired on the SPEED television network and produced by Internal Combustion Group. Each broadcast will combine the best race battles with up-close team features, all with the colorful commentary of long-time series announcer Tom Hnatiw.
