Jim Osborn to serve as Panelist at the 2008 SEMA Show

SEMA Show 2007 drew over 60,000 domestic and international buyers through two million square feet of exhibits. Sofronas Scores First World Challenge Win in Jersey, Clinches Championship for Porsche

Big congrats to James Sofronas in his No. 14 Global Motorsports Group Porsche 911 GT3! We’ve been watching him for some time now and to grab his first win and lock up the SCCA SPEED GT Manufacturers win for Porsche at he same time, is awesome.

It took James Sofronas 99 attempts, but he finally captured his first-career SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge win, leading every lap of Saturday’s SCCA SPEED GT Championship Round Nine race at New Jersey Motorsports Park’s Thunderbolt Raceway. Brandon Davis, of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Andy Pilgrim, of Boca Raton, Fla., completed the podium. Pobst and K-PAX/3R Porsche 911 GT3 win SCCA SPEED GP Pole in Detroit

Randy Pobst qualified his No. 1 K-PAX/3R Racing GT3 on the pole for Round Eight of the SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge GT Championship on the Belle Isle street track in Detroit. Michael Galati qualified the No. 23 K-PAX/3R Racing Porsche in the eighth position after an early session spin moving up several positions as the session progressed.

“It’s my car chief Paul Delio’s birthday today and I think fate wasn’t to be denied,” Pobst said of his pole position.

SPEED World Challenge: Pobst on Top in First SPEED GT Practice at Detroit

Randy Pobst, of Gainesville, Ga., topped Friday practice for Round Eight of the SCCA Pro Racing SPEED GT Championship at the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix, in the series first return to the island since 2001. Team Remington Cadillac teammates Andy Pilgrim, of Boca Raton, Fla., and Michael McCann, of Canton, Ohio, were second and third fastest, respectively. SPEED World Challenge: Pobst and Galati Qualify Second and Seventh at Mosport

Randy Pobst qualified his No. 1 K-PAX/3R Racing GT3 in second for Round Seven of the SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge GT Championships Presented by Toyo Tires at Mosport International Raceway in Ontario Canada. Michael Galati qualified the No. 23 K-PAX/3R Racing Porsche in the seventh position.

For Randy Pobst, of Gainesville, Ga., his qualifying run was both good news and bad as his first lap time of 1:23.118 stood up for second in a qualifying session shortened when the No. 06 Pontiac GTO of Joey Scarallo exploded in flames coating a good portion of the track in oil. After a historic weekend in 2007 saw him win all three SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge races, Randy Pobst’s 2008 trip to Watkins Glen International may not have been as busy, competing in just one event, but was successful nonetheless, winning the SCCA SPEED GT Round Four race from the pole.
