Spyker Squadron to conduct test in Portugal

Haven’t heard to much from the Spyker crew. Glad to see they are gearing up for 2008! Hope to see them in North America soon (Sebring or Petit).

Last season Spyker Squadron finished in style with a podium position in the 1000 km of Silverstone and a fourth position in the Mil Milhas of Brazil (1000 miles). As soon as the team returned from Brazil the team worked hard to prepare new cars for the 2008 season.

IMG_9103.jpg New components have been developed incorporating new technologies and modifications  were designed. These will get their first track time next week when the team will head south for Portugal to test them in practice at the Autódromo do Estoril. The team will use a 2007 C8 Spyder GT2R driven by Dutchman Peter Kox for this test.

The team tests for two full days and will focus on a number of areas such as engine cooling, a new differential, new spec Moton dampers, power steering and rear wings. The team will also test a new type of tyre and improved brake pads.

Next month the team will announce its 2008 plans in further detail.

Podium finish for Spyker Squadron

Unfortunately, we haven’t posted much about Spyker since Le Mans. However we do follow them. I hope they return to Petit Le Mans this year!

Well over the weekend, Spyker nailed a spot on the podium with a third place finish with the sister car following in 4th.
