25 Drivers Ready To Compete For The Series Championship Starting April 23, 2010
Volkswagen of America, Inc. is proud to announce the names of the 25 drivers who will compete in the 2010 Jetta TDI® Cup. The Volkswagen-operated spec racing series, now entering its third season, will take the green flag on its SCCA Pro Racing-sanctioned events beginning April 23 at Virginia International Raceway. Awesome! Our good buds AJ Nealy, Jan Halen and Derek Jones bring a fun video where AJ compares the two cars and the other two race them. If your shopping for a TDI this is a great video to watch. The TDI is an amazing engine, pulls like a mutha and gets great MPG and is practically in-destructive. AJ is a trip too!
In motorsports, theres more to the action than whats seen on the track by fans. Beginning the week of January 18, all of the behind-the-scenes drama of the countrys only professional clean diesel racing series will hit national television with a documentary on the season, titled Racing Under Green.
The compete one-hour documentary film will be aired multiple times across Discovery Communications’ networks (All times Eastern, check local listings for channel information).

With the second successful season of the SCCA Pro Racing Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup in the rearview mirror, series officials have begun making preparations for the 2010 season. Today, Volkswagen announced the 10-race schedule for next year, which includes six of the circuits from the 2009 schedule and the series’ first visit to Mexico.

Races to air on Speed-TV beginning December 6
The 2009 SCCA Pro Racing Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup series produced many exciting moments, culminating with Timmy Megenbier’s Championship win. Megenbier to compete in the Bio-Clean Natural Gas powered Volkswagen Scirocco Cup next season
Herndon, VA (Nov. 12, 2009) – After dominating the 2009 Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup season, Timmy Megenbier has announced that he will travel to Europe to race a full season in the newly-announced Volkswagen Scirocco Cup in 2010. Volkswagen of America, Inc. today announced the Jetta TDI Cup ‘Street’ Edition will be available in dealer showrooms January 2010. The concept debuted in Las Vegas during the 2008 SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) show. Following the SEMA show the concept was displayed at TDI Cup races throughout the country, where it was well received by enthusiasts and consumers alike.

A race car driver’s perspective…
Over the last few years I have had the opportunity to experience things which many can only dream of doing. Though the path has been filled with many risks, trials and a lot of hard work, it’s moments like these when I realize how incredibly fortunate I am.
Over the last 2 years I have been driving race cars for Volkswagen in the Jetta TDI Cup. I was fortunate enough to earn a spot as a driver in the series and then was even more fortunate to be able to win the coveted Public Relations Contest in both years as well.
