When the racing season comes to an end here in the U.S, we tend to get bummed out but before you know it the Roar Before the Rolex 24 is here. Michael DeNino snapped this Porsche Panamera Turbo at the Roar before the 24 in Daytona yesterday. Temperatures dropped enough where it had even “snowed” and iced the track, calling off one session in the morning.
Our motorsport contributor, Michael DeNino is down in Daytona for this weekends Roar Before the Rolex 24. DeNino snapped this shot showing the beautiful new livery from this monrings first test.
One team we will be covering is the newly formed Magnus Racing squad. The #44 Magnus Racing team is made up of owner John Potter and our good friend Craig Stanton. They will be joined by Porsche Motorsport drivers Jeroen Bleekemolen and Richard Lietz. The team is run out of Salt Lake City, Utah and will be racing a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car.

The No. 44 Magnus Racing Porsche GT3 turned a wheel for the first time as drivers John Potter and Craig Stanton enjoyed a successful two-day test during the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 test at Daytona International Speedway.
Right away, the car was a standout – and not just for its bright British Racing Green paint.
Stanton, from Long Beach, California, quickly put the Porsche third on the timing and scoring monitors when the team hit the track for the first time on Tuesday. With speed not an issue, nor the ultimate factor in success for the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the team spent the rest of the test experimenting with chassis setup and component testing. Flying Lizard Motorsports announced today that The Racer’s Group (TRG) will enter a TRG/Flying Lizard Porsche in GT at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the season-opener for the Grand-Am Road Racing Series. In the ShoreTel-sponsored No. 66 Porsche GT3 Cup Car, Joerg Bergmeister and Patrick Long will join Johannes van Overbeek and Seth Neiman for the 24-hour endurance race to be held on January 30-31, 2009. The principal behind the Farnbacher-Loles race team has been identified as the person allegedly behind a massive financial fraud involving embezzlement of funds from a Connecticut church, according to the New Haven Register.

After a record-setting sophomore season in the GRAND-AM KONI Sports Car Challenge Street Tuner (ST) class, APR Motorsport announced today it will compete both ST and the Grand Sport class in 2010.
The team will campaign the sixth generation Volkswagen GTI again in ST, while debuting in the GS class with the new Audi S4. The team launched its contenders during a barbecue held Saturday at APR’s Performance Campus in front of a crowd consisting of international press, sponsors and enthusiasts.
