If your headed to the Geneva Motor Show and have an iPhone/iTouch, this will be the perfect companion. At first, you are greeted with exhibition information, vehicle highlights and city guide buttons. The city guide is actually very nice if you’re not familiar with the surrounding area. Hotels, restaurants and places of interest are included. Even in the U.S, I can search and call to set up reservations. With this and all the information you need about Volkswagens new entries, including the Polo GTI, CrossPolo and CrossGolf, you can hit the Geneva Motor Show with the best of them. Volkswagen also let us know it’s available now so you don’t have to wait ’til March 1st.

In mid-January, the new Audi Center Mainz was officially opened. It is one of the first Audi Centers in Germany to implement Audi AG’s new terminal concept. DTM Champion Timo Scheider was one of the guests at the official opening ceremony.

From high-tech nomads for high-tech nomads: Volkswagen has launched a new iPhone application about the Dakar Rally in Apple’s online store today.
Under the name of ‘Volkswagen Rally mobile – 2010 Dakar’ the application is now available free of charge. Before and during the ‘Dakar’ it sends news, results, videos and background information directly to the user’s display. iPhone users will be kept up to speed about the ‘Dakar’ programme of the five factory-prepared and factory-fielded Race Touareg vehicles from Volkswagen, receiving exciting insights into the rally world of Volkswagen Motorsport. The Wolfsburg-based automobile manufacturer will contest the off-road classic that leads through Argentina and Chile – running twice across the Andes as well as through the gruelling Atacama desert and the legendary pampas – from 02 to 16 January 2010 as the title defender. Real Racing GTI Remains One of the Hottest Free Apps on iTunes With More than 2 Million Downloads To Date
Volkswagen of America, Inc. today announced that Joseph Chase of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio was the first to win one of six, limited-edition GTI MkVI vehicles as part of its wildly popular and free new gaming app, Real Racing GTI. Volkswagen became the first automobile manufacturer to launch a vehicle exclusively on a mobile device, and since its debut two weeks ago, the Real Racing GTI app continues to be one of the hottest free apps on iTunes with more than 2 million downloads.
Late last night we found out about the event via ustream and posted about it. A few hours later, just before 12am Real Racing GTI was live in the iTunes store (iTunes link). Real Racing GTI will be free and global with 5 languages at launch. Features include racing with a live leader-board, a showroom and include twitter/facebook integration.

The new version of the ‘SEAT CUPRA Race’ game for iPhone/iPod touch now includes the SEAT León CUPRA and a City Track. New features such as Nitro and Protection Shield are also available to add more excitement to the race. The game is available in five languages and users can download it at no charge at the Apple iTunes App Stores starting 26 October.

Volkswagen are proving that fuel consumption can be reduced even in the sporty high-end class with the 199 kW / 270 PS strong Golf R, which is now available to order. Thanks to a turbocharged high-tech TSI engine, it uses only 8.5 litres – 2.2 litres or 21 percent less than its predecessor.
