I don’t know if this is the answer to the Focus RS, nor the Subaru STI and Mitsubishi Evo or even if Volkswagen is going to directly target that segment. If they are, this will need to better the Volkswagen R32 a lot! Seeing there are many who still abide by the HP wars, 260hp will not cut it. It cannot be a “pig” as they are known to be called tin the dub scene. Then you will have the DSG haters. Price point will be another factor and if it comes to our shores.
This is Volkswagen’s answer to Ford Focus RS: the Golf R20. While its competitors have waged a power war, the Golf GTI has been left behind with just 207bhp.
This car, fitted with a modified version of the last Golf GTI’s EA113 2.0-litre with direct injection, will have over 260bhp and replaces the six-cylinder R32.
YouTube was down the other day when we went to upload this in support of the Trackdaze event. Well here it is to get you stoked about the event or just drool over an R32!

Inspiration for this event generated from the popular SoCal GTG, FASTIVUS. An established hit in Southern California, R32 enthusiasts have migrated annually to the west coast to show their support for the iconic product. Event highlights include an exclusive preview of celebrated Volkswagen products, including the new Golf and GTI MkVI.

Friend Derek Punsalan has jumped full on into the dub addiction with his newly acquired, Volkswagen MKV .:R32. Since its purchase, he’s thrown on a set of KW Coils, Axis 5 spokes and a bit more.
Since its purchase date via CarsDirect, the Volkswagen MkV R32 has earned itself the nickname “uber cow” due the black & white motif and its curb weight (shout out to Accutint and Speedware Motorsports for the help). After a few modifications, the car feels like a completely different set of wheels.
In preparation for a Volkswagen enthusiasts gathering, Phil snagged some footage of the car and edited the clips into a short teaser video above. FYI, the song playing in the background is “This Language” by Stateless.

Nice find by the crew over at volksbloggin! Funny to see zdnet get into the auto reviews..
The poor cabin electronics in the 2008 Volkswagen R32 keep it from being a great tech car, but its drivetrain tech makes up somewhat for that lost ground. However, there are many good sport sedans that come in around the same price. Viw review.zdnet.com”
Oh here is the story: Yep it was just sitting in the parking lot at work and caught on fire. I am still at work and the car is at the dealer. Dunno what is going to happen right now besides the VW people are coming to look at it soon. It had been sitting idle for over 6 hours when it happened. This Sucks.
