Audi is making a lively start to 2010. The brand will launch eight new models in the course of the next twelve months. And Audi is also keeping its foot on the gas pedal in terms of investments. “Although the effects of the global economic crisis will still be noticeable in the next twelve months, we aim to achieve further growth in 2010,” says Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG. In this respect, Audi has a solid basis to work from: The company’s original objective for 2009 was to sell 900,000 cars, and in November it raised this target to 925,000. Germany’s Bild am Sonntag newspaper has awarded a Golden Steering Wheel to its choice of best midsize vehicle: the new Audi A5 Sportback, the third model from Audi’s successful core model line based on the modular longitudinal platform. The Audi A5 Sportback’s victory constitutes the 18th award presented to a vehicle with the four rings in the 34-year history of the competition. Audi is thus the most successful brand in the competition.

motors.co.uk has just posted nice review on the new Audi A5 Sportback and it looks soooo go in the exterior color, which looks to be Meteor grey or Deep sea blue.
No other car company is shovelling new cars at its buyers as Audi is just now. The make’s launched a new car in the UK pretty much once a month this year and here’s the newest: the Audi A5 Sportback.
You can already buy the A5 as a coupe (with two doors, plus boot) and as a cabrio (two doors, boot, drop-top cloth roof). The Sportback adds a pair of rear doors and a tailgate into the mix.
Now, of course, Audi already makes its A4 compact saloon car, and its A6 midsizer. Both are conventional four-doorers, plus boot. This newest A5 is longer, lower and wider than an A4, and is longer between the wheels. But there’s not much in it. So, you must ask, is there room in the range for another car?

Audi is presenting a new vehicle concept – the Audi A5 Sportback. The five-door model with the long, flowing rear end unites the best of various vehicle genres: the emotion and elegance of a coupe, the comfort of a sedan and the practicality of a station wagon. The Sportback joins the Coupé and Cabriolet as the third member of the A5 model family.
The A5 Sportback will be rolling into Audi dealerships in September featuring an emotion-packed design, high everyday practicality, a sporty character and engines that are as efficient as they are powerful. Sales have already begun, with prices starting at 33,650 euros. A further, specially-priced model to follow in 2010 will make the A5 Sportback the entry-level model in the A5 model series.
