Georgia and North Carolina commuters are being forced to telecommute, take public transit, carpool, or wait in 15+ minute lines due to the most significant fuel shortages since Presidents Carter and Nixon. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration and the American Petroleum Institute, by way of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, hurricanes Gustav and Ike bear the main responsibility.

SEAT UK can reflect on five highly successful seasons in the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship after winning 43 races and scoring 101 podium results in 150 races.
Having entered the series in 2004, Jason Plato and Darren Turner closed the chapter on SEAT UK’s motorsport programme by ensuring the Leon TDI was the top winning car in the 2008 BTCC campaign – with 10 race wins to its name. Nine different drivers won races in 2008, but no-one scored more than Jason Plato, who took his BTCC career total to 46 victories and 2136 points (in 276 starts) with eight wins this year. We do not have the exact dates or stops but the marathon will go from New York to Los Angeles, passing major cities like Chicago, Dallas and Las Vegas during the 13 daily stages, as well as natural wonders including the Rocky Mountains, Death Valley and the Grand Canyon. The site is also not up right now.
The TDI is the world’s most successful efficiency technology. Now the latest Audi TDI is making its way to the US: Audi is introducing the world’s cleanest diesel to the streets of America inside the Audi Q7 3.0 TDI with ultra low emission system. Volkswagen is standardising the engine range in the Golf segment. For the models Golf, Golf Plus, Golf Estate and Jetta there are now two TSI versions: a turbocharged 90 kW / 122 hp direct injection petrol engine as well as a 118 kW / 160 hp version of the same engine, but with turbocharger and compressor. We do not focus on sales press releases, but with today’s chatter about auto sales taking a plunge, its good to see Volkswagen in the green. We’ve been seeing a ton of the Volkswagen Eos driving around town! With the Jetta TDI demo’s at the dealers now and the Tiguan on sale, it will be interesting to see the next few months.
On the other hand, Chrysler did have one of the biggest hits yet the Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan posted excellent increases of 21% and 52%, respectively. Where will this put the Volkswagen Routan when it hits dealers in the Fall of 2008?

Volkswagen of America, Inc. today announced June 2008 sales of 23,208 units, a 0.3 percent increase over the June 2007 sales of 23,137 vehicles. On a year-to-date basis, 2008 Volkswagen sales remain 0.6 percent ahead of 2007 sales through June.

Powerful dynamism, stamina and endurance are just as important in sport as out on the road. To be successful, you need to use your energy as efficiently as possible: On June 23, eleven white Audi A4 2.0 TDI models took to the start in the efficiency competition organized by Audi and Auto Bild. To stand a chance of winning, however, the teams have to complete the total distance of over 1,650 kilometers (1,025.26 miles) with an average fuel consumption of under four liters (over 58.80 US mpg).
