Porsche sales in the USA at last year’s level in February
Porsche AG, Stuttgart, was able to continue its positive sales trends on the US market in February 2010. With 1,531 vehicles delivered to US customers, sales are 1.5 % above February 2009’s figures. Thus, for the sixth consecutive time in the current fiscal year, Porsche was able to increase deliveries – even though the severe winter weather on the US East Coast, the most important region for Porsche, did little to bring customers into the showrooms. Come March, Porsche will be doing somewhat of an about face. The underlying principle of Porsche Intelligent Performance will lead the new models. The Cayenne Diesel, Cayenne Turbo, Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo will all see better fuel consumption ratings and less CO2 output. Overall weight savings will amount to a sportier drive. The new Tiptronic S eight-speed automatic transmission with Auto Start Stop will also be a featured option. Aggressive new body lines give the Cayenne a great new look. Building structure for environmental production facility completed in record time
The new ultra-environmentally friendly paint shop at Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, is taking form. After only six and a half months of construction time, the building structure of the new, highly modern production facility at the Zuffenhausen parent plant is now complete. At today’s topping-out ceremony, Baden-Württemberg’s Minister of the Environment Tanja Gönner and Stuttgart Mayor Dr. Wolfgang Schuster not only enjoyed a tour of the new building, but were also given initial details on the highly innovative technology that will be used here starting in 2011.
