The Nurburgring is world-renowned for its legendary Nordschleife (north loop). The modern Grand Prix track has been booming ever since Formula 1 returned to the Eifel in 1995. Legends have been born on the Nurburgring. The deciding factor of the race track is its profile. A balanced combination between fast sections and tight turns over up- and downhill terrain. It has no equal in the DTM calendar.
Event Status: confirmed
Event Description:
The German Unification made things possible people even hadn't thought about, some years earlier. In 1989, the Oschersleben Automobile Club presented the brothers Hans-Joachim and Hans-Peter Klein a way to create a new German circuit. Both Hans-Joachim and Hans-Peter had been closely connected with racing and rallying for a long time, and soon, Germany's third permanent racing circuit assumed shape. Unfortunately, Hans-Joachim Klein unexpectedly passed away in October 1993 - only one year after the planning for the new circuit had begun. His brother, however, continued to realise their common goal: to build Europe's safest and most modern circuit. The construction works begun in June 1996, and on 25th July 1997, the MOTOPARK Oschersleben was officially opened.

The track width of the 3.667-kilometre circuit with its 14 turns ranges from 11 to 13 metres, the altitude difference adds up to 24 metres and the highest speeds are reached at the end of the pit straight, with one feature making the circuit particularly popular with the fans: All the spectator areas have been erected six to eight metres above the track, thus not only providing the visitors with the chance of watching a lot of the action alone but also allowing them to sit and stand respectively very close to the track.
Event Status: confirmed
Event Description:
The season opening and the finals of the DTM are traditionally staged at Hockenheim. Both races in 2006 will be held on the new 4.574 kilometre-long Grand Prix track, where the DTM last year hosted the thrilling climax to the season. In the years before, the season opener was staged on the small track and the finals on the large track. Although the former Grand Prix track was shortened by more than two kilometres during reconstruction it has maintained the characteristics of the Hockenheimring Baden-Wrttemberg as a high-speed circuit.

The Mercedes Arena has been built on the new part of the course right by the series of challenging turns between the hairpin turn and the entry to the Motodrom. The Mercedes Arena is an architecturally fascinating grandstand with 6,521 seats on two tiers as well as a storey of boxes and a superb view out onto the fast Parabolika, the hairpin turn and the series of turns that leads back into the Motodrom.

Built in 1932, the race circuit is famous above all for its Motodrom, whose style creates a quite unique atmosphere. Similar to a football stadium, the circuit is almost entirely framed by the grandstands on which thousands of spectators cheer on their stars like the gladiators in Roman times. A frisson is assured.
Where: Circuit de Catalunya
Event Status: confirmed
Event Description:
The Circuit de Catalunya is the third and last of the new venues on the 2006 DTM calendar wed like to introduce to you with this small serial. Located close to the Catalan metropolis, Barcelona, the 4.267-kilometre Grand Prix circuit will be the venue of the inaugural Spanish DTM round, held on 24th September, 2006.

The Circuit de Catalunya was built in 1991 and has been one of the modern European racetracks, since then. The circuit not only hosts the Spanish Formula One GP and the Moto GP but also represents a popular testing circuit for both Formula One and DTM teams, with the teams appreciating the regions agreeable weather conditions in winter just as much as the circuits high safety standards and its spacious pit-lane.

The Grand Prix circuit itself represents a well-balanced combination of fast and slow sections. Its used clockwise and consists of five left-handers and nine right-handers. According to experience, the track surface is rather dusty at the beginning of a weekend, with its grip level improving lap by lap. Overtaking opportunities are rare, hence, a good grid position for the ninth round of the DTM season will be vital. Two of the circuits key positions are the chicane following the long pit-straight and the fast Campsa bend located at the backside of the paddock. Here, its not only about the perfect balance of the DTM cars but the tyre wear will also turn out to be a key factor, over the course of the race.
Event Description:
Zandvoort marks the sixth time that the DTM has staged a race in the neighbouring country of the Netherlands. The fans will be pleased because numerous factors come together at Zandvoort that determine a great racing weekend. The circuit lies just a stones throw away from the beach in the sand dunes of the North Sea coast. The first reconstruction measures were initiated in 1999 with a view to helping the former Formula 1 track regain international recognition.

It began with a revamp of the course, which in parts still incorporates sections of the original track. As of 2001, the main grandstand is situated opposite the pit lane. Next to this are mostly natural stands. The city of Zandvoort itself is a holiday mecca. The atmosphere on the streets is therefore lively, many bars and restaurants tempt one into whiling away the time.
Where: Circuit Park Zandvoort
Event Status: confirmed
Event Description:

Event Status: confirmed
Event Description: The Norisring is situated in the middle of Nrnberg. The action and extraordinary flair of this city race lures droves of spectators each year into the city with its world-famous "Christkindl Markt". Between races fans are treated to a wide range of traditional delicacies, while drivers and teams retire to the large and idyllically situated drivers camp by the Dutzend pond, where fans also mingle.

The party throbs late into the night throughout the drivers camp and in the tents on the fields. Lively parties stir up an atmosphere similar to that of the Formula 1 GP in Monaco. The cars naturally take centre stage on race day. The locals have taken to following the race from comical homemade stands. Each stand has its own charm since you can be close to the action everywhere. The big attraction is the singular stone grandstand right by the start-finish straight.
Where: Brands Hatch
Event Status: confirmed
Event Description: DTM returns to the United Kingdom: on 10th June, 2007, Europes most successful touring car series is going to race at the time-honoured circuit of Brands Hatch. Located 30 kilometres south-east to London, close to the town of West Kingsdown, the Grand Prix circuit is one of Great Britains most popular racetracks. From 1964 to 1986, Brands Hatch and Silverstone hosted the British GP in turns. For the DTM, this years round will represent its debut appearance at the track that was built back in 1926 and was incorporated into the hills of the Kent countryside o create a natural amphitheatre. The first car race in Brands Hatch was held in 1950. Up to this point in time, it was only used as motorbike racetrack.

The DTM will race on the circuits 1,929-kilometre Indy layout - a truly challenging track. At the end of the pit straight, the drivers will have to cope with the Paddock Hill Bend - a bend you need all your courage for. On the track slightly sloping to the outside, you go at high speed down the Hailwood Hill and, following a depression, up again towards Druids Hill Bend. Then its downhill again, across the fast left-hander Graham Hill Bend, followed by the Cooper Straight leading to the corner prior to the pit straight: the Clark Curve with a total angle of nearly 270 degrees.

Those who travel to Brands Hatch may look forward to a lot of touring car action: being about 363 metres shorter than the Norisring, Brands Hatch is the shortest circuit on the DTM calendar and offers the drivers nearly no opportunity to relax, with a lot of courage being a must. The 38.03-second Indy-Circuit lap record was established back in 2004 by teenager Scott Mansell in a Formula 1 Benetton car formerly driven by DTM star Jean Alesi.
Event Description: The German Unification made things possible people even hadnt thought about, some years earlier. In 1989, the Oschersleben Automobile Club presented the brothers Hans-Joachim and Hans-Peter Klein a way to create a new German circuit. Both Hans-Joachim and Hans-Peter had been closely connected with racing and rallying for a long time, and soon, Germanys third permanent racing circuit assumed shape. Unfortunately, Hans-Joachim Klein unexpectedly passed away in October 1993 only one year after the planning for the new circuit had begun. His brother, however, continued to realise their common goal: to build Europes safest and most modern circuit.

Event Description: The season opening and the finals of the DTM are traditionally staged at Hockenheim. Both races in 2007 will be held on the new 4.574 kilometre-long Grand Prix track, where the DTM last year hosted the thrilling climax to the season.
