AUDI AG sold around 1,092,400 cars in the past year, exceeding the Company’s annual sales forecasts, and thus recorded its best ever year in terms of sales. Audi is hard at work on electronics systems for the automotive world of tomorrow: At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) taking place January 6–9, 2011, in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Brand with the Four Rings is setting off a veritable fireworks display of innovative ideas. The broad spectrum encompasses infotainment as well as driver assistance systems for improving traffic safety and efficiency. In his keynote speech delivered at the opening of the tradeshow, Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, outlined his vision for future developments by the brand. Audi AG clearly exceeds 2009 upgraded forecast of 925,000 vehicle deliveries

  • 2009: Around 950,000 Audi cars delivered to customers worldwide
  • Audi CEO Stadler: ‘We are making a lively start 2010 and aim to deliver one million cars again.’
  • Sales chief Schwarzenbauer: ‘Audi is Europe’s most successful premium brand.’

Audi has clearly exceeded the sales forecast that had already been upgraded in the course of last year, selling 949,700 cars worldwide in 2009. Overall sales for 2009 were thus only 5.4 percent down on the record-breaking figure for 2008 (2008: 1,003,469 vehicle deliveries). (continue reading…)

Audi Group: Operating profit of 823 million euros for first six months

  • CFO Axel Strotbek: ‘We’re keeping to our target of recording a significant operating profit in 2009, even if there are challenges to be faced in the second half.’
  • By the fall, the Audi brand will have 50 models on sale with emissions below 140 g/km

In the first six months of the current year the Audi Group succeeded in avoiding the effects of the negative overall market trend, and recorded a significant operating profit of 823 million euros (2008: 1.3 billion euros). The Audi brand is also hitting its sales targets: in the first six months, approximately 466,000 cars were delivered (2008: 516,219), representing a 9.7 percent shortfall compared with the previous year’s record figure.

Audi once again named top employer by Universum engineers

  • First place among engineers in the latest employer branding survey by the market research institute Universum
  • Fourth place among economics students

Germany’s engineering students have once again voted AUDI AG the most attractive employer, as Universum revealed today in its Most Popular Employers rankings. The Ingolstadt-based automotive company came out on top among budding engineers to repeat as victor.
