Fourtitude drives the 2011 Audi TTS Weight-Optimized Prototype

The crew of at Fourtitude have a new feature on this light-weight TTS prototype. While out at Neckarsulm, they tested an A5 aptly named The Beast. Also on hand was this TTS. BREAKING: Audi Releases Statement on Helicopter Incident on Pikes Peak

Update: All 4 people have survived the crash. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all friends and families.

Audi is saddened by the helicopter incident that took place this morning near the summit of Pikes Peak. Today’s film crew was shooting a test run of the “Autonomous Audi TTS Pikes Peak,” a joint program involving Audi, the Electronic Research Laboratory in Palo Alto, California, and Stanford University. The goal of the project involves ascending Pikes Peak autonomously without a driver behind the wheel to demonstrate the capabilities of advanced driver assistance systems and GPS. What once seemed to be the stuff of science fiction a car that can safely operate without direct input from a driver is rapidly moving from the realm of science fiction toward reality. The autonomous Audi TTS project is studying how driver assistance, communications, and other automotive technologies can help drivers react to traffic and safety challenges. This research could help dramatically reduce the number of auto fatalities worldwide.
