The time for FC Bayern München, AC Milan, Manchester United and the Boca Juniors from Argentina to get down to business is coming closer: Ten days from now, the stars of the four World Cup winners will kick the ball at the Allianz Arena, fighting for the Audi Cup that is being staged for the first time on the occasion of Audi’s 100th anniversary. ZDF (German public national channel 2) will air extensive coverage from Munich.
The grand ceremony held in Ingolstadt last Thursday was the social highlight of the centennial year. The sporting pinnacle will follow exactly ten days from now. On July 29, at 7:30 pm fans at Munich’s Allianz Arena will witness the kick-off to the 2009 Audi Cup and hence the summit meeting of four World Cup winners from Europe and South America.
For FC Bayern München, AC Milan, Manchester United and the Boca Juniors daily practice has long started again in their respective countries. In test games prominent new signings, like Mario Gomez and Anatoliy Tymoshchuk at FC Bayern, already presented themselves in very good form. Consequently, the soccer fans who managed securing one of the coveted tickets can look forward to exciting duels with Ronaldinho and company. Only a few residual tickets are still available for the semi-final games on Wednesday.
Therefore, those desiring to watch the games on location should hurry up. For everyone else, ZDF will air extensive coverage from Munich’s Allianz Arena on both days. The broadcasts start on Wednesday and Thursday at 7:25 pm, respectively. The residual tickets are sold by the regular advance ticket sales locations of FC Bayern and the FCB Service Center on Säbener Straße. Tickets can also be booked online at www.fcbayern.de.
