Modern, environmentally friendly and efficient describes the Volkswagen profile at Hannover Messe 2009 from April 20 – 24. The new Volkswagen Polo, the latest vehicle highlight from the Volkswagen brand, is the star of the show at the stand in Hall 16.
The focal theme of the exhibition at the trade fair is the presentation of the processes and technologies which have been brought together under Volkswagen’s ‘BlueMotionTechnologies’ umbrella brand and which are to be found both in automobile production and in the vehicles themselves. The BlueMotionTechnologies label covers all of Volkswagen’s production-mature or near-production technologies and products that significantly reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Visitors to the Volkswagen stand can experience first-hand how innovative and sustainable concepts are integrated in the life cycle of a vehicle.
Volkswagen gives priority to conserving resources, both when it comes to using lightweight materials for vehicle construction and when developing biogenic fuels to reduce CO2 emissions. Visitors can also view the exhibits presenting many modern fuel and drivetrain strategies such as TDI, TSI and DSG, and find out how they work.
Apart from these vehicle-related topics, Volkswagen is showcasing further best practice solutions such as the ‘co-gen package’. This unit, which generates both heat and power, illustrates modern applications for Volkswagen engines to optimize energy efficiency in industrial processes.
Anyone interested in starting a career with Europe’s largest automaker will find plenty of information at Hannover Messe, too. Volkswagen’s personnel marketing team is on hand in Hall 16 to talk to visitors. Volkswagen also has a stand for young technology fans in TectoYou Pavilion 34.
Hannover Messe is the world’s most prestigious technology event. Over 6,000 exhibitors from 61 countries will be present this year, showcasing their products and know-how on 224,800 square meters of exhibition space. Volkswagen will be welcoming visitors to its stand D50 in Hall 16.
