The inaugural Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo race series has confirmed its 2009 race calendar. It’s less than four weeks until the world’s fastest one-make series debuts the thrills of the 570 hp Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 race car at the historical British Silverstone circuit in May.
The pan-European series will visit legendary race tracks across the continent. Each Super Trofeo race weekend will comprise of three
40-minute races, 30-minute qualifying session and free practice, supporting both the FIA GT Championship and the DTM series.
Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Calendar
- 01-03 May – Silverstone (UK) – FIA GT
- 15-16 May – Adria (Italy) – FIA GT
- 26-28 June – Norisring (Germany) – DTM
- 23-25 July – Spa Francorchamps (Belgium) – FIA GT
- 18-20 September – Circuit de Catalunya, Barcelona (Spain) – DTM
- 02-04 October – Paul Ricard (France) – FIA GT
An official Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo test session took place at Misano World Circuit, Italy, on 07-08 April. The event provided essential track time for drivers and teams to learn about the Super Trofeo and prepare for the season-opener. Manfred Fitzgerald, Director of Brand and Design for Lamborghini, was impressed with the results: “The Super Trofeo car showed incredible speed at Misano. The Lamborghini 4-wheel drive system also resulted in excellent tyre consistency, whilst delivering very impressive lap times.”
