Jetta TDI Cup: Season finale to take place at Road Atlanta

Road Atlanta will host the final race of the inaugural season of the Jetta TDI Cup this weekend when one of the 30 amateur drivers is crowned champion and receives a check for $100,000 to further his professional racing career. The race is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 4 at 9:00 a.m. Rookie driver Josh Hurley, Cooper City, Fl., is the current points leader, but with only a small margin separating the top drivers, and a large sum of money on the line, competition at Atlanta is guaranteed to be fierce.

‘We’ve had an unbelievable season with these drivers who have shown amazing skill and dedication to this motorsport series,’ said Clark Campbell, motorsport manager, Volkswagen of America, Inc. ‘The idea of racing clean diesel vehicles has been embraced at every track we’ve visited and our drivers have given spectators a show with thrilling races at every turn. With a different winner at each race thus far, the points spread is extremely close and will only increase the excitement of our final race this weekend.’
