Promotion of young talent has a long tradition with Volkswagen and ADAC: For 10 years, the partners have been jointly promoting youngsters in touring car racing: Since 1998 with the Lupo Cup, from 2004 with the ADAC Volkswagen Polo Cup. Successful completion of a training course is the first step to enter the series, so apply for your opportunity now!
Many drivers have used the feeder series as a stepping stone to a successful career. For example, René Rast, the 2005 champion, now contests the Porsche Carrera Cup. Last year’s champion Jimmy Johansson is successful in the SEAT Supercopa. Peter Terting, who won the Lupo Cup in 2002, even ascended to the DTM and the World Touring Car Championship.
The “school for racing youngsters” is open to young talent born in the years from 1985 to 1993. The selection courses for the 2009 season will start this autumn. Documents with detailed information as well as the registration form can be downloaded as a PDF by clicking on the link below this text.
Guided by experienced instructors, participants in the courses learn the fundamentals of racing. Years of experience possessed by the racing professionals/instructors guarantee a successful learning curve.
In the seminar’s theoretical part participants acquire knowledge of vehicle engineering, sporting rules and the meaning of flags. In addition, fitness and nutrition are on the agenda. The practical part, which is conducted using original Volkswagen Polo Cup vehicles, is focused on starting, shifting and driving exercises.
