It has been two month’s since the last race. Hope these guys have been keeping fit!

Portland International Raceway to Host the Third Race

Entering the third race of an already competitive series, the VW Jetta TDI Cup will make it’s only stop on the West Coast at Portland International Raceway on July 27. The clean diesel race series is anticipating an enthusiastic welcome in what is widely known as one of the greenest cities in America.

“These clean diesel vehicles are going to bring a whole new element of racing to an area that already has a significant interest in the environment. We’re thrilled to be headed west and Portland’s dedication to clean living is a perfect fit for Volkswagen,” said Clark Campbell, motorsport manager, Volkswagen of America, Inc. “Our drivers have had a bit of a break since the last race, and we’re excited to be back and ready to hit the track in Portland.”

The Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup series is an innovative approach to motorsports – 30 factory-prepared and managed 2009 clean-diesel Jetta TDIs will be piloted by talented, up-and-coming drivers, aged 16 to 26. Volkswagen’s goal is to find the driver with the most talent and help them break into the world of professional motorsports. The Jetta TDI Cup series, the first all clean-diesel race series, is sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing Inc. Sponsors for the series include: Aggreko, Athlete’s Performance, Bondurant, Bosch, ful®, Holder, Hoopla, Ironclad, Kyosho, Oakley, RedBull, UTI and ViOn.
