Wolf Henzler from Nuertingen will be starting for Dr. Ing h.c. F. Porsche AG in the motorsport season 2008. The 32-year-old German will be at the wheel of a Flying Lizard Team’s Porsche GT3 RSR in the American Le Mans Series. In 2006, Henzler was awarded the Porsche Cup as most successful driver of a private Porsche racing car. Henzler, who has bachelor qualifications in business administration and business informatics, has been racing Porsche cars since 2000.
Hartmut Kristen, Porsche’s head of motorsport, says: “I am very glad we have succeeded in gaining Wolf Henzler as an additional strength for our team of works drivers. I have been following his career for years now. I value his consistency, his experience and his basic turn of speed.”
Among other events in the 2007 season, Henzler started for the Tafel Racing Team in the American Le Mans Series, standing six times on the podium in the GT class and finishing the championship in third place. In 2005 Henzler won the GT class in the 24 Hours of Daytona; in 2004 he dominated the Porsche Supercup, gaining nine victories in twelve races to secure the champion’s title in masterly fashion.
