Timo Scheider was on a tear yesterday and today during qualifying! He topped both test sessions and free practice. Then he goes out a kills it during qualifying with a 1:32:823 over Ekstrom. This is his second pole of his career.
Audi also (again) took the top 5, Mike Rockenfeller in 8th and Lucas Luhr in 10th. I believe the best of his career so far. Audi also has 11th and 12th sewn up.
Row’s 4 and 5 are a mix of Audi and Mercedes-AMG’s so it will be important for great starts to keep them behind. The first turn is a tight right hand u-turn. Hopefully no Audi team carnage!
Now, as we learned with the last race at Mugello, this doesn’t always turn into a win! I won’t go into my thoughts as how the race should be strategically played out, but whatever.
