With a writing from 29th August, 2006, Audi and Mercedes-Benz, the two premium manufacturers involved in DTM, have early enrolled at the ‘Deutsche Motor Sport Bund’ DMSB, for the 2007 DTM season.

During a meeting of the DTM commission, held during the DTM round at the Norisring, the manufacturers had already given their assurance to continue their DTM engagement beyond the 2006 season. Both manufacturers had come to an arrangement with the DMSB to make an official enrolment up to the end of August and have done so, now.
Hermann Tomczyk, DMSB Vice President Automobilsport, said: “The early DTM enrolment of Audi and Mercedes-Benz demonstrates the series’ extraordinary significance and attractiveness for the two manufacturers. By enrolling that early, they provide all those involved with a high level of planning reliability and at the same time, this move represents a positive signal for German motor racing and all the DTM supporters. The DMSB welcomes this step.”
