Scandinavians dominate first DTM test at the RingTwo drivers from Scandinavia battled for the top position in the closing stages of the first DTM test at the Nürburgring. In his final lap, Mika Häkkinen set the fastest time of 1:35.168 minutes with his AMG-Mercedes C-Class. The double Formula 1 world champion from Finland demoted Tom Kristensen with the Audi A4 DTM to second place with a considerable margin of 0.668 seconds. Behind the Dane, Bruno Spengler occupied third place with a lap time of 1:36.116 minutrs. The first of two DTM test sessions at the 3.629 kilometres long sprint circuit of the traditional Eifel venue started in damp conditions, but the track dried more and more during the course of the 90 minutes’ session.
