BOWMANVILLE, Ont. (Aug. 30, 2006) STaSIS Motorsports and Agincourt Autohaus are heading to the Grand Prix of Mosport together looking for another strong SCCA SPEED World Challenge Touring Car race performance.
“We are coming from Road America where we did agreat deal of testing, and had an excellent race,” Chip Herr in his #17 STaSIS Clear Capital/Agincourt Autohaus Audi A4 coming off his recent victory at Road America commented. “We hope to continue with another strong performance at Mosport. It is one of my favorite tracks, being both fast and dangerous.”
STaSIS Motorsports and Chip Herr will begin unofficial practice this coming Thursday with his teammates “Fast” Freddy Baker in the #18 STaSIS Fred Baker Audi A4, and Piloti SPEED Touring Car Rookie of the Year points leader Jeff Courtney in his #99 STaSIS Kenda/MPICoin/Karavan Trailer Audi A4.
Sunday’s SPEED World Challenge Touring Car race at Mosport will be aired on SPEED September 10 at 3:00 PM EDT.

The tradition of Labor Day racing continues in 2006 as the American Le Mans Series heads north of the border to scenic Mosport International Raceway just outside Toronto, Canada, for Round 8 of the 2006 season. Mosport has seen its share of historic sports car racing in the past, and the cars and stars of the American Le Mans Series will look to add to that rich history in 2006.

With a writing from 29th August, 2006, Audi and Mercedes-Benz, the two premium manufacturers involved in DTM, have early enrolled at the ‘Deutsche Motor Sport Bund’ DMSB, for the 2007 DTM season.

During a meeting of the DTM commission, held during the DTM round at the Norisring, the manufacturers had already given their assurance to continue their DTM engagement beyond the 2006 season. Both manufacturers had come to an arrangement with the DMSB to make an official enrolment up to the end of August and have done so, now.
Hermann Tomczyk, DMSB Vice President Automobilsport, said: “The early DTM enrolment of Audi and Mercedes-Benz demonstrates the series’ extraordinary significance and attractiveness for the two manufacturers. By enrolling that early, they provide all those involved with a high level of planning reliability and at the same time, this move represents a positive signal for German motor racing and all the DTM supporters. The DMSB welcomes this step.”
