Found this new tool on jflint’s flickr page He had a square that was almost like mine. I raced over to Type 3 Selecta and created this one. Brings back alot of memories!

Auto Motor und Sport has a nice photo gallery of all upcoming VW models until 2008. The Ragster is gonna rock! The Phaeton has a bit of the Porsche Panamera to it… small amount. I love the new Scirocco!

STANLEY WINS! IT’s OFFICIAL!
Stanford with their VW Touareg R5 won the 2005 DARPA Grand Challenge. After hours of racing/traversing, 9h 55m to be exact, and another day later, calculations have been finalized and Stanley was the winner. The VW Touareg passed two Hummers to take the win.
Serious Wheels has an outstanding gallery of the new 2006 R32, from 1024×768 to 1920×1440
There’s also a nice little article but who cares with all the eye candy!
(from Volkswagen Press Release) The new R32 is the most powerful and fastest Golf ever. Its predecessor has already become a collector’s item - we sold three times as many first generation Golf R32s than we originally planned. Now the flagship Golf returns on the basis of the current version of Europe’s most successful car. The combination of standard four-wheel drive (4MOTION), 184 kW / 250 hp, 0-100 km/h in 6.2 seconds (using DSG* gearbox) and a top speed of 250 km/h make the Golf R32 one of the best sports cars in the compact class. Ideally balanced for fast lap times on track days, the equally comfortable Golf R32 is also recommended for long trips between appointments.
Stanford Racing is now at the 125 mile point 7h into the race. Red Team Too is in second place at 121 miles but they have been going for 5min longer.

The DARPA Grand Challenge 2005 is taking place right now. The site is actually pretty nice. The usability is a bit to get used to but there is some nice xml feeds into flash.
At 6h 35m into it, the Stanford Racing Team is leading! Why do I say this with excitement? They are running a stock VW Touareg R5 with some skid plate mods and a few other things. The autonomous part is being run by 7 Pentium M computers.
So after a week in Seattle (working) I came home for a day at the office only to find out I was off to Miami on Friday. I was not happy as I was hoping to get out of work a bit early and head up to the race to camp out overnight.. owell.
I woke Saturday in such a great mood. I was stoked, it was 10hrs of Petit Le Mans. I headed up around 9:45am w/ the turbo loving every moment of the cool morning air. The dub hasn’t stretched his O.Z’s in a while so we we’re movin!
The race was great! Well the first 30sec’s we’re not fun as Lehto (Champion Audi) and Hayanari Shimoda (Zytek) hooked up and spun into the kitty liter with Lehto hitting the wall. After some fixing the #1 Audi R8 was back on course only to have another bender w/ an Aston Marton and pulling off a 3rd place finish. Thats climbing back from 30 laps/45 minutes down. The Audi R8’s are just plain ruthless. As the saying goes, “they take a lickin and keep on tickin!” this is why they will go down as the best car in autoracing history!
Here are my pics from the day: (not good. was more into watching than taking)
If you have any pics, post links under comments.
The Istanbul race will not bring any good memories for Mattias. With a perfect start, overtaking to drivers it looked like Mattis would give the Mercedes drivers a hard time. Instead he was passed by them one lap later. With two bad pitstops and tyres that didn’t last Mattias fell down from 6th to 12th position.
“We have had 25 races without any problems and this race we make all the mistakes we can. It’s not fun when it happens and I’m dissapointed. Now I wish I’ll have a good race at Hockenheim and try my best to please the fans.”
I could smack something so hard right now! Ekstrom finishes 12th today. 12th!!!!!! WTF! Paffet and he were trading 1pt back and forth over the past 6 races. With this horrible finish, Ekstrom is now 9pts down. There is one race left in the series this year and with a 9pt deficit doesnt look to good for the 2004 Champion.
On another note, since I work on the AMG and the AMG DTM site, this will be a nice update for tomorrow morning. Look for new wallpapers.
